WHO WE ARE

Our chapter represents the University of Maryland for Engineering World Health (EWH), a U.S. based non-profit organization. The Engineering World Health Chapter at UMD is a part of a global community seeking to inspire and mobilize biomedical engineering to improve the quality of health care in vulnerable communities.  EWH provides students with the opportunity to repair, build, and learn about medical devices. EWH inspires, educates and empowers young engineers, scientists and medical professionals from more to use their engineering skills to improve global health in recovering nations. EWH offers young professionals an eye-opening, life-changing experience that encourages life-long engagement with global health, and enables them immediately to provide meaningful service to patients in the developing world.
